In the heart of Charlotte’s growing Central Business District, this wastewater project consists of 4,600 linear feet of 48-inch to 60-inch sewer pipe.

Beginning at Pearl Street Park and adjacent to Kenilworth Avenue, the project includes 1,000 linear feet of pipe in phase 1 installed by open cut method. The remaining 3,800 linear feet will be installed by tunnel. This includes the first curved wastewater tunnel pipeline in Charlotte, installed 30-45 feet underground, under Baxter Street. The Progressive Design-Build project is expected to be completed in early 2022.
